How can we help? ๐Ÿ‘‹

Multiple crews

Assign multiple crews to tasks to enable parallel work.

๐Ÿ‘ทโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ท Multiple Crews in InTakt

When a task is long or resource-heavy, you can assign multiple crews to work in parallel or in a leapfrogging pattern across areas or floors. This helps maintain takt flow without breaking tasks apart or duplicating logic.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ How to Add Multiple Crews to a Task

  1. Open Task Properties in Takt Settings
      • Click on the task you want to assign multiple crews to.
  1. Set Number of Crews
      • Increase the crew count (e.g., from 1 to 2).
      • Confirm your selection.
  1. Adjust Duration (Optional)
      • If the task will now span longer due to scope or sequencing, update the duration (e.g., from 5 to 10 days).
  1. Save
      • Youโ€™ll now see the task split across areas with logic showing the leapfrogging pattern.

๐Ÿ” What Happens Visually

  • InTakt generates two versions of the task:
    • Crew 1 of 2 follows one sequence.
    • Crew 2 of 2 leapfrogs ahead and continues the pattern.
  • Each crew has its own task bar and logic path.
  • Leapfrogging can be across non-adjacent zones (e.g., Crew 1 in B and D, Crew 2 in C and E).

๐ŸŽฏ When to Use This

  • Long-duration tasks like rough plumbing or drywall.
  • When two crews can operate simultaneously to meet schedule targets.
  • To avoid splitting a task manually while still enabling parallel execution.
