🏷️ Tags Feature
Summary
Tags in InTakt allow users to label and group tasks or subtasks with relevant labels (e.g. "piping", "flooring", "cleaning"). Tags can be used for filtering schedules, controlling user permissions, and improving visibility.
🧩 Key Behaviors
Tag Creation
- Tags can be added:
- In Project Settings for bulk tagging.
- Directly from a task’s property panel.
- When added through takt settings they are applied to the task across all zones
- When added through the schedule view, they are applied to the individual tasks in the selected zones.
- On subtasks, either individually or in bulk.
- Users can create new tags on the fly, or select from existing ones.
Tag Usage
- Used to filter:
- Main Schedule
- Workforce View
- Work Plan View
- Users can apply a filter to show only tasks with specific tags (e.g. all "ME" tasks).
Subtask Tags
- Subtasks can be tagged independently of parent tasks.
- Filters will surface both tagged tasks and tagged subtasks in relevant reports or views.
🔐 Permissions & Roles
- Tags play a critical role in scoping user access.
- Within custom roles (e.g. "Trade Partner"):
- You can restrict editing rights to only the tasks associated with specific tags (e.g. “plumbing”).
- Users can see the full schedule but only edit tasks with their assigned tag(s).
- Note: Tag editing can be disabled in the role settings to protect schedule structure.
💡 Pro Tips
- Use consistent tag naming across projects to standardize filters and permissions.
- Tags are often used in tandem with:
- Reports (to isolate issues by trade)
- User access (to restrict accidental edits)
- Crew and cost views (to group effort by trade)
