🕰️ Version History in InTakt

InTakt automatically captures critical changes to your schedule, letting you explore options, recover from errors, and track the evolution of your plan—without losing your baseline.

🧠 What Triggers a Version Save?

InTakt automatically saves a backup version of your project in key moments to help you recover or undo changes when needed. Backups are created when:

  • You restore a previous version
  • You modify the lockline
  • You save changes to Takt Settings on a project that has progress

A project is considered to have progress if any of the following conditions are met:

  • One-off tasks exist
  • Roadblocks have been added
  • Duplicate phases are present
  • Custom logic links are used
  • Tasks have handoffs marked
  • Subtasks are assigned

These backups ensure your project history is protected as your plan evolves.

InTakt also performs automatic daily backups at 4:55 UTC.

Saving Key Versions

  • You can star any version you want to preserve permanently.
  • Add a clear name like:
    • Original Plan
    • Post-RFI Update
    • Owner Review Proposal
  • Starred versions will never be auto-deleted, even if newer ones are created.

🧭 Viewing & Restoring Versions

  1. Open the Version History panel.
  1. Browse previous iterations.
  1. Click Restore to instantly revert your live schedule to that point in time.
  1. You can also restore to older versions and then return to newer ones—nothing is lost.

🧼 Automatic Cleanup

  • InTakt keeps the latest 20 versions by default + 20 starred versions. .
  • Non-starred versions are automatically removed as new ones are created, to reduce clutter.
