Navigating the InTakt Interface
Overview
InTakt’s interface is built to give you clarity, control, and real-time coordination — whether you're planning months ahead or solving today’s site issues. This guide introduces you to the core views, features, and controls so you can feel confident using the platform from Day 1.
Projects View
This is your command center — the first screen you’ll see when you log in.
Key Features:
- Project List: See all your active and archived projects at a glance.
- Status Indicators: Quickly identify which projects are active or inactive.
- Shared projects: Easily distinguish between projects you own and those shared with you.
- Create New Project: Use the “+ New Project” button to start something new.
Schedule View (Takt Plan)
This is the heart of the platform. It’s where your entire project plan lives — visualized with time across the top and zones down the side, just like a proper takt schedule.
Key Elements:
- Color-Coded Tasks: Each trade is color-tagged for clarity.
- Milestones: Marks key project deadlines or phase completion dates.
- Workforce Visualization: Shows crew distribution and workload across zones.
- Zoom Levels: Adjusts how much of the schedule is visible onscreen.
- Roadblocks Visualization: Highlights issues blocking work by zone and timeframe.
Use the filter panel to narrow by task, phase, team, or status — ideal during lookaheads or phase reviews.
Side Panel
Click on any task to open the task properties. Here you can:
- Change the task name, trade, or color
- Adjust duration or start time
- Add or remove logic links
- Set overlapping or lag time between tasks
It’s your backstage pass to fine-tune flow without starting from scratch.
Takt Settings
Open the takt settings panel to configure project-wide flow logic. Here you can:
- Set or adjust takt time across the plan
- Define standard zone durations and spacing
- Configure default logic rules
- Modify work week and add holidays
- Create/modify phases
It’s your control room for maintaining rhythm, consistency, and alignment throughout the project.
Lookahead & Weekly Work Plans
InTakt auto-generates rolling lookahead views based on your master plan. These reports help you:
- Plan short-interval work with foremen
- Spot upcoming roadblocks
- Coordinate material deliveries and staffing
You can filter by team or area, add notes, and export as PDF or Excel.
Exports
Need to share your plan with stakeholders or backup systems?
InTakt supports exports to:
- PDF: Great for static reports or permit binders
- Excel: Editable formats for field teams or clients
- Primavera P6 & MS Project: For integration with traditional scheduling systems
Choose full plan views or filtered slices based on trade, zone, or date range.
User Roles & Collaboration
Invite users with tailored permissions:
- View Only: For clients or read-only execs
- Edit Tasks: For supers and planners
- Admin Access: Full control over project settings and users
All changes are saved in real time, so teams stay aligned — no uploading and version control headaches.
Zone Maps
Use Zone Maps to visualize progress and work status by location. Here you can:
- Assign zones to physical locations on a map or drawing
- Track completed, in-progress, or delayed work by zone
- Highlight roadblocks or workforce levels visually
It’s your bird’s-eye view for spatial coordination and real-time field clarity.
